King of Jordan commends France’s important role in the region

His Majesty, King Abdullah II of Jordan, and French President, Emmanuel Macron, held talks on Wednesday, in Jordanian capital Amman. The meeting discussed bilateral relations between the two nations, ways to enhance them, and improve the situation in the region. During the meeting, King Abdullah II spoke highly of the distinguished and historical relations between the two nations, along with France’s support for Jordan and other nations in the region.

King Abdullah II commended President Macron’s support for Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership, which was held on Tuesday, pointing out that his talks with the Macron touched on challenges in Iraq, Syria and Lebanon, as well as the Palestinian cause, adding that Macron’s interest and focus on issues and challenges facing the region have contributed to supporting all efforts made to address them.

French President Macron stressed the importance of cooperation with Jordan, commending Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership, which he considered successful, adding that Jordan’s role in the region, bilateral cooperation, and coordination on vital issues for security and stability of the region are essential and important for France. Macron stated that Jordan, led by King Abdullah II, is a partner, ally, and friend of French people in the region, noting his desire to increase cooperation for projects undertaken by Jordan, in order to benefit Jordan and its people.
