Tunisia has started official preparations to host the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD8). The organizing committee announced, at a press conference, the program for TICAD8, which will comprise three main themes. The first will be political summit for presidents and political officials from Japan and African countries. The second will be economic forum to explore prospects for cooperation between the two parties. The third will be parallel demonstrations and activities, 14 of which Tunisian official bodies will participate in. Activities will start on Aug 19 until Sep 2, with the participation of civil society, private sector and researchers to present their aspirations in several fields, including automotive industry, energy, environment, green economy, blue economy, health, agriculture, nanotechnology and artificial intelligence. These activities aim to foster cooperation and networking among those participating in the event.
