On World Press Freedom Day, Tunisian journalists held a huge national march from the headquarters of the Syndicate of Journalists to Habib Bourguiba Street.
The journalists raised banners emphasizing the need to respect freedom of expression and the press, especially with Tunisia heading towards the establishment of a third republic.
They considered that Tunisia’s decline in the global ranking of freedom of the press is negative, but it is still in the leading ranks in the Arab world and in North Africa, which prompts more work and support for the press sector.
