More than 1 million methamphetamine pills were seized on the banks of the Mekong River

At 3:00 p.m. on March 25, relevant authorities jointly announced the meth seizure of more than one million methamphetamine pills.

A total of 1,176,000 tablets were seized on the banks of the Mekong River. At approximately 7:00 p.m. on March 24, officers intercepted the 2nd Division of The Narcotics Interception and Suppression Division 1, 2nd Division of The Surasak Montree Forces, who were informed by the spies that there would be a drug-smuggling movement into the country through Nong Khai province. Along with coordinating the relevant authorities planning the arrests, the patrols were deployed near the spot where they were notified until about 7:30 p.m.

The officers had an endoscopy and found the motorized hoof boat circling the middle of the Mekong River. There were about three people on board before crossing into the Thai docks where the officers were lurking, then those on board helped carry black suspected plastic bags from the boat to reach the Thai shore.

The officers then showed up for a search. The group of men, when they saw the officers throwing away the sacks they were carrying, then ran away and jumped into the Mekong River, relying on darkness, escaping capture.

Officers then inspected the area in detail three sacks were found when they opened and found meth hidden. A total of 196 packs of 6,000 pills, including about 1,176,000 methamphetamine tablets, were seized. Report the supervisor and send the investigator to Rattanawapi Police Station for further legal proceedings.
