Syria holds “Together to Spread Peace” religions forum

The Religions and Beliefs Committee in North and East Syria held a forum for religions and beliefs in the Mesopotamia region, that includes all regions of North and East Syria, with the participation of religious figures representing various religions in the region including Muslims, Christians, Yazidis, and others, aiming to promote the message of tolerance.

Religion and its principles have been exploited for a variety of goals other than the culture of brotherhood, tolerance, and love that religions call for, the organizers of the forum said, and it is their responsibility to define what all religions seek in the region.

Under the slogan “Together to Spread Peace”, the forum lasted for two days while many religious figures from neighboring countries couldn’t attend due to the closure of the border crossings, according to the forum’s organizers.
