Cambodia, the ASEAN Chair in 2022, is planning to organise an ASEAN Global Dialogue on Covid-19.
The plan was shared by Prime Minister Hun Sen while receiving here at the Peace Palace this morning visiting Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dato Lim Jock Hoi, according to the Minister Attached to the Prime Minister, Kao Kim Hourn.
The topic will be on post-Covid-19 comprehensive recovery, underlined the Premier, adding that key international actors such as the World Bank, International Monetary Fund, Asian Development Bank, World Trade Organisation, World Health Organisation’s will be invited to the event.
For his part, the ASEAN Secretary-General voiced his support for the organisation of the dialogue, pledging to work with the ASEAN Chair and other relevant parties for the success of this event.
This will be a major meeting before the ASEAN Summit and related Summits, said Lim, continuing that in 2021, the ASEAN economy grew by 2.3 percent and the figure was forecasted to reach 5.2 percent in 2022.
The ASEAN Global Dialogue was first organised in 2012 when Cambodia held the ASEAN chairmanship.
