Foundation of Phakhini Sri Chumphaban organized signing ceremony addresses violence against women and children, human trafficking

On December 13, 2021 at the field in front of the Si Chiang Mai District Office Si Chiang Mai District Nong Khai Province Monsit Paisanthanawat, Governor of Nong Khai Province presided over the presentation ceremony of the Center for Community Violence Watch and Campaign to End Violence Against Children and Women and prevention of human trafficking in the year 2021 at the Foundation of Phakhini Si Chumphaban Faculty of Thailand.
by Phakinee Sri Chumphaban Nongkhai Foundation organized by Bishop Joseph Luechai Thatwisai, Bishop Sangkhamonthon Udon Thani, sister Pranee Sitthi, chairman of Phakinee Sri Chumphaban Nongkhai Foundation, head of government in Nong Khai province, head Government offices of Si Chiang Mai District, Pho Ta District and Sangkhom District participated in this ceremony as well sister Jintana Phimsarn, Project Director, Development and Strengthening of the Community Surveillance Committee to prevent and resolve violence among children and women Phakinee Sri Chumphaban Nongkhai Foundation Said that the Foundation of Phakhini Sri Chumphaban Thailand (Good Shepherd Thailand: GST).
Recognizing the importance of violence among children and women is committed to working to help affected women and children affected by all forms of violence.
The foundation works in 6 provinces, namely Bangkok, Nong Khai, Chonburi (Pattaya), Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai and Phuket in each area the target is the operator which has a period of operation of 3 years from 2021-2023.
Implementation of the community surveillance committee development and strengthening project to prevent and solve the problems of violence among children and women, Phakinee Srichumphaban Foundation is managed by the community for the community.
The committee of the Center for Violence in the Community consists of 8 people in Pha Tang Subdistrict, Ban Muang Subdistrict 10 people, Sangkok Subdistrict 10 people, Pho Tak Subdistrict 15 people, and Phan Prao Subdistrict 12 people making a total of 55 people.
The purpose of this event is to protect children and women from all forms of violence including sexual exploitation and human trafficking through coordinating and meeting with local government organizations, schools, community organizations, community leaders, NGOs including women and youth groups.
It aims to establish or strengthen community-level surveillance committees as a mechanism for the prevention and resolution of violence among children and women in order to enhance capacity and provide training to the surveillance committees in the community on whistleblowing, reporting and case forwarding including organizing a quarterly meeting to analyze the violent situation, find ways to prevent and tackle violence among children and women in the community.
It also aimed at organizing activities to raise awareness in the community together with the community watchdog committee on women’s rights family violence law and other related matters as well as provide technical assistance and support the work of the Community Surveillance Committee in a sustainable manner.
The event is under the Covid-19 situation. All participants have registered online and received 2 full doses of vaccination already.
