The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology has issued a warning over a forthcoming spell of cold weather coming from Siberia via China – with temperatures predicted to drop as low as 15 degrees.
The Ministry says that cold weather in Siberia will push high pressure from China down over Cambodia.
It predicts that during December 2021-February 2022 the weather will be cold as follows:
1. The weather will start to cool down for the first time from the first week of December to Week 3, December 2021.
During that period, some days will be moderate to cold, including: – Upper provinces in the Dangrek mountain range and the northeastern plateau.
The minimum temperature will drop to around 17° C to 19° C.
In other capitals and provinces, the minimum temperature is around 19° C to 21 ° C.
2. The weather will be cold for the second time from the 4th week of December 2021 to
February 2022.
During that period, some weather may be moderate to moderate for several consecutive days, including:
Upper provinces in mountainous and northeastern highlands – the minimum temperature may drop to around 15° C to 17° C
In other capitals and provinces, the minimum temperature will be around 18° C to 20° C
The Ministry says it has been ‘working diligently on this natural phenomenon and will keep you informed of climate change interventions.’
