Cuban Ambassador to Sri Lanka calls the Minister of Foreign Affairs

The new Cuban Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Andrés Marcelo González Garrido, visited Foreign Minister Dinesh Gunawardena today (July 29) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who received Ambassador Garrido on July 22, 2021, who presented President Gotabaya Rajapaksa with his credentials. Gunawardena conveyed President Rajapaksa’s gratitude to the Cuban government for the continued support and cooperation given to Sri Lanka in multilateral fora, particularly the United Nations Human Rights Council. to the Cuban government for providing medical assistance to Sri Lankan expatriates who were stranded by the COVID19 pandemic outbreak in Haiti last year. Ambassador Garrido briefed Foreign Minister Gunawardena on the recent events in Cuba and the Latin America region.
