The Loei Provincial Industry Bureau and state authorities have accelerated steps to resolve the issue of cyanide tank leakage in a gold mine as Wang Saphung District residents escalated their complaints about contaminated water overflow. In the facility around the Phu Thap Fah gold mine in Khao Luang Tambon, it was placed alongside 11 other tanks. The water level in the other 11 tanks appeared to be almost full, and the condition of the tanks was considered so dangerous that the tanks could collapse and contaminate the area. After the problem was reported, the area was inspected by many provincial authorities, including the provincial industrial bureau. the land reform office, the legal department and the health department. With little progress in the week, the six-village Khon Ruk Ban Kerd Conservation Group contacted the provincial governor before state authorities resumed inspections on Tuesday. The authorities and villagers agreed on guidelines for solving the problem with leaky tanks and ways to safely pump the water.
