In a letter dated April 27, His Excellency Thich Duc Thien, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the EBV Executive Committee, expressed condolences to the difficulties COVID-19 has caused to the lives of Cambodian Buddhists. . On behalf of VBS, the Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Vu Quang Minh awarded the Supreme Bishop Tep Wong Scholarship to Ounalom Pagoda. Due to the closure of the capital Phnom Penh and the nearby city of Tahmao, many Buddhist monks have almost no food to eat. From mid-April, they will stop collecting charity, and people will not be able to bring food to the pagoda. The authorities ensure that food is provided in places of worship in closed areas.
