State Minister of Sri Lanka: Sudarshini Fernandopulle conducts the second Covid-19 vaccination from 1 May

The Minister of State for Primary Health Care, Epidemiology and COVID Disease Control, Sudarshini Fernandopulle, said that the second jab vaccine for the Oxford AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine will be opened to the public on May 1.

The Secretary of State said this in Parliament today (20th Apr).

Secretary of State Fernandopulle suggested that if the first dose is the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine, the second dose must be the same vaccine. Therefore, the government will carry out corresponding immunizations.

According to new scientific data, it is recommended to inject the second dose 12 weeks after the first prick, and thats why the vaccination will be starting from May 1st.
