Foreign Affairs Department of the Kurdish Democratic Autonomous Administration handed over 34 Russian children the Presidential children’s rights ombudswoman- Anna Kuznetsova. The Co-chair of the Kurdish administration’s Foreign Relations Commission, Abdulkarim Omar illustrated that those orphaned children, whose families are linked to ISIS, have lost their parents in the war. Anna Kuznetsova indicated that during the next phase, at least 10 Russian children will be repatriated from Roj (internally displaced person and refugee camp) after conducting a DNA test. Anna Kuznetsova illustrated when asked about the reasoning behind the Russian government’s unwillingness to repatriate Russian women and men by the A24 agency, that her country isn’t alone in adopting such policy, but rather all countries are only interested in taking back their children. It is worth mentioning that Russia repatriated about 168 children
