More than 1,600 sewing workers in 7 regions tested positive for COVID-19

The Ministry of Vocational Education and Training announced that in six provinces and capitals, more than 1,600 textile workers have been infected with COVID-19. Ministry of Industry and Information Technology spokesperson Hensur said this morning that the number of infected workers came from 206 factories in the following regions:

Phnom Penh (134), Kandal (23), Takeo (26), Sihanoukville (16), Ruian ( 4), Kampong Chnang (4) and Kampong Cham (1).

These factories reported a total of 1,673 COVID-19 cases, with Phnom Penh having the highest infection rate at 1,598. 19 The incidence of factory workers may increase. It also showed that more than 110,000 textile workers received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, and more than 10,000 people will receive the second dose within three days. 17,000 textile workers are now quarantined to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
