Incensed protestors gathered in front of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants to rally against the Iranian intervention in Lebanon. They also protested against the Lebanese foreign ministry’s failure to act after the Iranian ambassador refused to comply with a summon by the ministry to show any opposition toward Iranian leaders’ offensive statements that targeted Patriarch Bechara Al-Rahi. His reluctance to act on his leaders’ offensive comments are deemed an unprecedented escalation in the political and diplomatic relations between the two countries
