Drop in Water Level in Darbandikhan Dam as Iran Cuts Off River Water Flow

The director of the Darbandikhan dam, Rahman Khani illustrated that the water level has dropped 8 meters compared to last year’s level, given the sparse water supply that flows from the Sirwan River which originates from Iran along with a slump in rainfalls. He pointed out that there is a reservoir water level decline that amounts to one billion and 400 million square meters, which implies an unbearable economic deficit in Kurdistan. The Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources is conducting a report in this regard and it will send a memorandum to the Iranian consulate over the issue of water flow cutoff
