US officials meet Khalifa Hifter as part of efforts to end Tripoli attack
US officials met on Sunday with Libyan National Army Commander Field Marshal Khalifa Hifter to discuss “steps to stop fighting and achieve a political solution to the Libyan conflict,” the State Department said, as Washington sought to pressure Hifter to end his assault on the capital Tripoli.
