The crisis in Lebanon worsened after Safadi retreated from the nomination for prime minister

Lebanon’s political crisis worsened on Sunday after the withdrawal of former Lebanese finance minister Mohammad Safadi as a candidate for prime minister, saying it was “difficult to form a homogeneous government supported by all political parties”, reducing the chances of forming a government that the country desperately needs to implement urgent reforms.
