Ghannouchi is president of the Tunisian parliament

The Tunisian parliament on Wednesday elected Rashed Ghannouchi, leader of the Islamic Ennahda Party, as its president, having won 123 votes out of 217 to hold his first official post since returning from exile in London in 2011 following an uprising that ended the rule of former President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali.
