UK-based charity Action For Humanity has launched a full-scale emergency appeal to help Palestinians affected by escalating violence in the Palestinian territories.

The organization has been working in Palestine since 2021. In addition to delivering humanitarian aid during the past two waves of violence, it said it has helped to provide access to food, clean water and medical services for Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza, and offer support for orphans.

Its teams in Palestine are now assessing the growing humanitarian needs, it added, and plan to deliver aid to those most in need, to help save lives.

This week, Israeli police carried out raids at Al-Aqsa, beating Palestinian worshipers and arresting or expelling hundreds of people from the compound in what they described as an effort to remove agitators sheltering at the mosque.

On Thursday night into Friday morning, Israeli warplanes bombed several military sites linked to Hamas and Islamic Jihad in parts of the Gaza Strip.

“Once again, Palestinians are facing worsening humanitarian conditions caused by an increase in violence,” said Othman Moqbel, Action for Humanity’s CEO. “This has once again fallen during a time when many Palestinians are celebrating the holy month of Ramadan.

“We have a pedigree of providing humanitarian aid to Palestinians during escalations of violence, like this, as well as over 12 years of providing humanitarian aid in conflict zones like Syria and Yemen.

“We have been monitoring the tensions in the West Bank and Gaza for months and, sadly, the conditions caused by the escalation of violence have triggered the protocol for Action For Humanity to launch an emergency fundraising appeal.”

He added: “We are calling on the public to donate generously to help us save and sustain lives in Palestine.”
