Marouf Al-Rifai, media advisor to the Jerusalem Governorate , reported that during the first quarter of this year, more than 11,000 settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the Israeli government has not complied with recent de-escalation agreements. Rifai noted that, during this period, six Palestinians were killed, 736 were arrested, and 117 demolitions occurred in Jerusalem. Additionally, Itamar Ben-Gvir, an extremist Israeli Minister of National Security, has encouraged settlers to storm the mosque during the Jewish Passover holiday, which begins on Wednesday. This year, Rifai stated that the Israeli government is leading the call to storm the mosque, and extremist settler groups have offered rewards for supporters who attempt to slaughter an offering at the mosque. These groups have allocated significant funds for this purpose, offering 25,000 shekels for those who can slaughter an animal inside the mosque and 2,500 shekels for activists who are arrested in possession of an animal offering. Furthermore, all checkpoints from the West Bank and the Gaza Strip will be closed during the holiday, according to the Israeli army.
