Moroccan international goalkeeper and Sevilla FC’s goalkeeper, Yassine Bounou, suffered a serious injury during his team’s match against Almeria on Sunday, which ended in favor of his team (2-1) in the twenty-fifth round of the Spanish football league.

Bounou was injured in the 36th minute after colliding with Almeria defender Srdjan Babic, before falling on top of his teammate Alex Telles. He was taken off the field on a stretcher after receiving initial medical treatment. Doctors placed a neck brace on the 31-year-old goalkeeper and he was taken to the hospital for precautionary tests.

 

And according to reports, Sevilla FC stated that Bounou felt dizzy but is in a stable condition. Bounou had an outstanding performance during the 2023 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, competing against other goalkeepers such as Argentina’s Emiliano Martinez and Belgian Thibaut Courtois, Real Madrid’s goalkeeper, for the title of the world’s best goalkeeper, which went to Martinez, who also guards Aston Villa’s goal.
