Explosion in Afghanistan’s Takhar province, 4 wounded

An explosion has rocked Taluqan city, the capital of Afghanistan’s northern Takhar province.

The explosion took place early in the morning in the central city. As per Afghan media reports, causalities are feared.

Spokesman of Taliban police Abdul Mobin Safi stated that four people received injuries as a planted bomb exploded in Takhar.

However, Aamaj news sources reported 8 people wounded while some were in a critical state.

So far no group has taken responsibility for the attack however, this is the third blast in Afghanistan since Sunday.

Earlier on Monday, a blast in Faizabad, Badakhshan province of Afghanistan claimed the lives of three people including the police chief.

Mawlawi Abdul Haq, the Taliban’s security chief, and two of his bodyguards were killed in an explosion near the entrance to the Faizabad police station.

However, the commander of an Afghan army military brigade, who appears to have been the target of this terrorist act, survived the incident.
