Hundreds of Iraqi demonstrators Saturday flocked to Tahrir Square in Baghdad to commemorate the third anniversary of the Tishreen revolution, amid unprecedented security measures as many bridges and main roads leading to the demonstration squares and the Green Zone were closed.
Demonstrators raised Iraqi flags and banners calling for the departure of the political authority and the accountability of the corrupt and the killers of the demonstrators.
For his part, the spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces said that the security plan for securing demonstrations in Tahrir Square is renewed according to the developments in the security situation.
He added that there are instructions to the security forces to prevent the use of weapons against demonstrators, calling on protesters not to cause chaos during the demonstrations.
