Syrian National Army forces stationed near the eastern countryside of Aleppo targeted army bases of the al-Assad regime and Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the vicinity of Al-Bab city. The strike by the Turkey backed army is in response to artillery and missile shelling on a local market in Al-Bab yesterday morning that killed at least fourteen and wounded dozens of civilians. The Syrian National Army described the regime’s strike on civilians as a cowardly, terrorist act and vowed to respond. The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights identified the source of the shelling yesterday as the village of Dar Shaala, which is under the control of Assad regime forces and SDF. Escalation increased during the past few days on the front line in the northern and northeastern countryside of Aleppo, amid artillery and aerial shelling exchanged between Turkish forces on the one hand and al-Assad regime forces and SDF on the other.
