In response to UN request for the opening of main roads in Yemen, the committee in charge of opening main roads linking Al-Dhalea, Qataba, Al-Fakher, Ibb, Maris, Damt and Sana’a, made a field visit this morning (Thursday 7th) to launch the initiative for opening main roads in order to mitigate citizens’ suffering over the past three years as a result of the closure, in addition to high costs of transporting goods between those governorates. The governor of Al-Dhalea, Major General Ali Muqbel Saleh, confirmed that local government leadership in Al-Dhalea, Joint Forces and Southern Resistance, took the initiative today to open roads from their side, adding that now the ball is in the court of concerned parties who should take the initiative and open main roads.
