Winners of prime minister’s journalism award honored

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and Prime Minister attended the sixth session of the Prime Minister’s Award for Journalism.

During the ceremony in the capital Manama, attended by ministers, senior officials, journalists and media professionals, His Highness said the national press plays a key role in promoting the comprehensive development of the Kingdom under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

The winners were: Columnist Yasmine Khalaf from Al-Bilad newspaper, won the Best Column Award, Journalist Alawi Al-Moussawi from Al-Bilad newspaper won the Best Investigative Report Award, journalists Sarah Najib and Hussein Sabt from Al-Ayyam newspaper won the best dialogue award, Photographer Abdul-Amir Al-Salatne from Akhbar Al-Khaleej newspaper won the Best Photo Award.

Winner Sarah Najib told A24 News Agency that winning the award will add more responsibilities for journalists to develop their job, adding that Bahrain’s freedom of the press is one of the pillars of democracy.
