Director-General of the Lahij Security Department, Brigadier Saleh Al Sayed, survived an assassination attempt after a car bomb in his convoy exploded in the Khormaksar District in Yemen’s capital, Aden.
The explosion killed ten people, including four escorts of the brigade, and six civilian bystanders. No party has claimed responsibility for the incident.
Yemeni security forces did not comment on the reported explosion. The temporary capital, Aden, has recently witnessed bombings, assassinations and kidnappings targeting security and government headquarters, civilians and military officials.
