Cambodian people on Sunday began to vote in the commune election across the country to elect commune chiefs and councilors.
More than 9 million registered voters will choose their preferred political parties. Seventeen political parties contested in the commune election. The poll began at 7 am and is set to end at 3 pm on Sunday. People are lining up at their polling stations in the morning to cast ballots.
A total of 11,622 commune councilors will be elected.
Prime Minister Hun Sen cast his ballot this morning in Takhmao city, Kandal province.
