Jordan and Iraq have reached an agreement on the funding and essential requirements of the joint border economic city project. The discussion took place during a press conference on Wednesday in capital Amman of Jordanian Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Youssef Al-Shamali, with his Iraqi counterpart, Manhal Aziz Al-Khabbaz.
Jordanian Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Youssef Al-Shamali said the establishment of the joint border economic city is the result of the directions and visions of the leaders of both countries.
He added that the meeting with his Iraqi counterpart is part of the tripartite summit to enhance the tripartite cooperation among Jordan, Egypt and Iraq.
The Iraqi Minister of Industry and Minerals said the process of acquiring and leasing border land to establish a joint border economic city is complete.
