Opening of culture cafe at Al-Mutanabbi Street in Baghdad

Mayor of Baghdad Alaa Al-Ammari inaugurated with the attendance of many Iraqi artists, writers, and journalists the new culture cafe at the recently restored Al-Mutanabbi Street which is well-known for its prestigious libraries in Baghdad.

Iraqi music filled the street in celebration of the cafe. The Mayor said that the recent restoration of the street brought back Iraqi culture, stating that the cafe is a gathering for Iraqi families and an outlet for intellectuals and artists.

Al-Mutanabbi Street is considered the most famous cultural and historic area in Iraq. It attracts many visitors including artists, writers, and poets. Tourists also frequent the street on public holidays to buy books from booksellers on the side of the street.
