Iraq ranks 86 on Global Hunger Index

The Global Hunger Index revealed that Iraq ranks 86 according to data collected by the International Food Policy Research Institute in 2021. Economists stated that Iraq does not have food security.

They requested the government to enact laws that promote national produce and agriculture, support farmers, and find solutions to water problems in order to achieve food security in Iraq.

The Iraqi government is working on approving the food security bill in light of the economic issues caused by international crises and the current situation in Iraq.
