Taxi drivers block roads in protest against high prices of petrol

Taxi drivers in Sulaymaniyah parked their cars in the middle of the main road in the city center; in a protest against the high prices of petrol, demanding the government to reduce the prices at 450 dinars per liter, similar to the rest of the governorates.

Protests and roadblocks in the Kurdistan region occur frequently, due to the price of petrol, which has tackled unprecedented spike, amid the regional government’s inability to find solutions, as the price hit 1100 dinars per liter for regular fuel after it was 650 dinars.
