Iraqi Kurds commemorate Halabja massacre

Iraqi Kurds gather in the Saray Azadi (Freedom) Square to commemorate the 34th anniversary of the Halabja massacre. They observe a minute of silence to pay respect for victims of the chemical bombing, that took place on March 16, 1988, and claimed the lives of more than five thousand people. The participants appealed to authorities to work hard so that such tragedy doesn’t reoccur.
