The Wings of Hope, an initiative launched in the Al-Jazirah region, north and east of Syria, aimed to empower people with disabilities (PWD) by providing them with mobility devices.
Nodem Organization (For Rehabilitation and Development), the Kurdish Red Crescent, and the Shliar Committee announced the initiative in an attempt to integrate this group into society and raise community awareness.
The associations chose the 8th of March, International Women’s Day, to be the launch day to support women’s participation (especially those with special needs) and enhance their role in society.
The campaign included distributing 130 wheelchairs, 30 walkers, and 170 canes for children and adults inside the cities of Qamshili and Amuda, with the goal of covering all areas of northeastern Syria.
