FIFA lifts ban on Iraqi stadiums

The Iraqi Minister of Youth and Sports and President of the Iraqi Football Association, Adnan Dirjal, said, during a press conference, that FIFA has lifted the twenty-one-year ban on Iraqi stadiums.

Dirjal added that Iraq received great support from the heads of the Gulf federations during previous meetings held in Doha, in which two decisions were issued; to host the 25th Arabian Gulf Cup and to lift the ban on Iraqi stadiums.

He also said that Iraq will host the UAE national team and hold a football match between the two teams in Baghdad on March 24th in the presence of the heads of the Gulf and Arab federations.
