Crater Aden restores its old houses to preserve its heritage

The Social Fund for Development, in coordination with UNESCO and Adeni architects, works on a restoration process for the old house in Crater Aden “Seera District”.

The success of this process gained the acceptance of locals after the idea was unpleasant to them. UNESCO praised the restoration of the Tarmoom family’s house in the ancient city of Aden, calling for continued efforts to preserve the historical identity of Adenites and their city.

The organization also stressed the importance of protecting historic buildings, noting that the process of restoring the Tarmoom house in Crater Aden is the result of a partnership among it and local parties.
