The city of Aden suffers from a severe shortage of domestic gas cylinders, forcing citizens to face heavy crowds in front of domestic gas suppliers.
For about two months, citizens have been complaining about the scarcity of domestic gas and have to stand in long lines to be informed that the supply has run out.
Aden’s daily need for gas cylinders is 20 thousand, but the share allocated to the city from the Marib refinery is only 8-10 thousand cylinders, which makes a 50 percent shortage from its normal need.
The Aden Refinery, the main supplier of gas to the city and neighboring governorates, stopped working after Houthi militias destroyed the place in 2015.
