The Undersecretary of the Bahraini Ministry of Interior for Nationality Affairs Hisham Al Khalifa announced, for the first time, the launch of services for issuing electronic residency and passports, among nine initiatives that were completed in the first quarter of this year.

E-Residency service facilitates reviewing residency data through quick response (QR) code, in addition to the ability to download residency on the mobile phone, which speeds up the transaction process.

The service aims to reduce visitors to service centers to 50 percent and facilitate the entry of residents into the country.
