The University Teachers’ Association in the Gaza Strip held a conference on national economy and its role in strengthening Palestinian resilience. The conference aims to tackle the severe crises resulting from the Israeli blockade as well as Palestinian divisions.

It addressed decision-makers in the world and provided an opportunity for participants to examine national challenge. The conference analyzed and assessed the reasons behind the deteriorated economic and social conditions in Gaza, suggesting realistic and reasonable solutions.

The negative impacts created by Israeli actions on national economy were high on the agenda.

The participants called on the international community and human rights activists to end the Gaza blockade affecting trade, education, the economy, and health sectors, leading to a high poverty rate of more than 53%, and increasing unemployment to over 50%.
