The Turkish “Boza” drink is a very popular smoothie which is also widely admired throughout Turkey for decades, due to its delicious taste and high nutritional value.
Corn, millet, rice, wheat, and bulgur are the main ingredients of Boza. The drink is free from barley and alcohol, but if it was left for a while, the yeast resulting from corn may cause fermentation.
Therefore, it must be consumed within ten days since its preparation Wafa Bozaci shop, established in 1876, is perhaps is the oldest place for Boza in Turkey.
This place has been always a tourist attraction, where one can have this delicious drink. Once people taste it, they become regular customers.
The shop was named after the famous Wafa neighborhood in the Fatih district of Istanbul.
