Shaima Hamdallah, a graduate of the Agricultural Institute, decided not to wait for civil service jobs and started her own business.

The young woman succeeded in setting up a small farm project to produce oyster mushrooms, generating about 10 million (Iraqi Dinars) IQD (about USD 6,851) with a capacity of more than a ton annually.

With an area of only 16 square meters, Hamdallah transformed part of the ground floor of her house into a farm starting with just 12 mushroom spores.

She hopes to obtain support from the government or organizations that help start-ups and called on unemployed graduates to take action and start their own small businesses.
