Activists protest against the killing of stray dogs in Sulaymaniyah

Dozens of activists and some organizations protested in Sulaymaniyah to condemn a video posted on social media platforms showing dogs have been massacred in a remote area, while the perpetrator is unknown.

The protestors raised pictures from the video and banners, some of which read “Habitat or Massacre!” calling for an end to the killing of stray dogs as it is inhuman and a violation of animal rights.

They demanded an enactment of laws to protect animals and blamed the government for that after it announced a project to house stray dogs outside the city, where people donated to them, and veterinarians also cooperated, but months later it turned out that they do something else.
