Cambodia: Misfiring weapons claims two soldiers lives during live ammunition training exercise

Two military officers with the rank of lieutenant colonel died instantly at the scene while taking part in live ammunition firing training exercise at a  live firing range at Otalas, Thala Parivat district, province, Stung Treng.

A military source said that the mishap took place because the bullet did not come out, exploded in the carton, causing the cartridge gun to explode, causing the two soldiers to succumb to severe injuries on the spot.

The source added that one of the deceased soldier was born in Battambang province and the other in Kandal province and were considered as having died while on duty.
