Cambodia: Kampong Thom Military Operation Area doctors to commence booster dose campaign

As the country begins to step up the booster campaign in the wake of the first local Omicron case, military doctors from the Kampong Thom Military Operation Area traveled to Siem Reap to assist in the booster campaign.

The mobilization of the military doctors was ordered by the Deputy Commander of the Army, Commander of the 4th Army Division Lt. Gen. Pov Heng.

The Commander of the Kampong Thom Military Operations Area, Lt. Gen. Som Sun, said, WWhite Army (military doctors) Kampong Thom Sub-Operational Area Command must leave for the battlefield. They will be giving the people of Prasat Bakong District, Siem Reap the third shots of the Covid-19 vaccine.”

The operation will be taking place in Meanchey Commune, Trapeang Thom Commune, and Kampong Phluk Commune.

Lt. Gen. Sun requested that the dispatched team take preventive measures against the virus, especially the new Omicron variant and to comply with the guidelines implemented by the Ministry of Health.

Lt. Gen. Sun also instructed the team and all doctors to cooperate well with the local authorities and the people in carrying out missions on the battlefield.

The Lt. Gen. donated medical supplies, food, and money to the medical team as they carry out their mission in Siem Reap.
