A mass protest and a comprehensive traders strike broke out from “Jawlat Al-Awadi” and proceeded to the front of the temporary governorate headquarter on Jamal Street, touring several streets of Taiz, southwestern Yemen, in condemnation of the local currency collapse versus foreign ones, and the enormous spike in prices. The protestors chanted angrily about the deterioration of the local currency and urged the legitimate government and the Arab coalition to rush in finding solutions and avoid famine. They also called on the government to fulfill its promises about resolving the collapse of the Yemeni riyal and the economic crisis as well as alleviating the blockade imposed on Taiz and Yemen’s ports, airports, and land and seaports.
