For 30 Years, A Woodcutter from Gaza Insists on Preserving his Occupation
For 30 years, Raed Abdel Aal has been making a living out of chopping trees, an occupation he had inherited from his grandfather. Due to the frequent power outage, there is a growing demand for firewood, which is mostly used for cooking and heating purposes. However, Abdel Al illustrated that despite having a variety of firewood from Citrus trees, olives, and Eucalyptus, he is having a hard time in selling wood, given the poor economic reality in Gaza.
