In an attempt to scale up honey production, Mahmoud Sheikh Ali, who runs an apiary, started feeding his bees natural honey mixed with water, instead of sugar syrups.

The unprecedented move of feeding bees natural honey in Gaza, where beekeepers have always resorted to sugar syrups, aims at protecting bees from diseases that spread in winter. Plants, in winter, don’t produce nectar, from which bees produce honey that they use as food in the cold season.

It is worth mentioning that bees that feed on honey produce high-quality honey, which matches well-known international products.
