Syrian calligrapher teaches calligraphy for free to preserve it

Yassin Osama Hijazi Kilani, the certified calligrapher and a writer of the Noble Qur’an, was able to preserve his talent despite living abroad, and develop it until he mastered writing several types of fonts, and designing book covers with both, typing and decoration, he also established the Hijazi office to serve books and preserve heritage. After coming to Turkey, he began teaching calligraphy and working on drawing Arabic calligraphy paintings, to turn his talent into a source of living for him. He published a book entitled, “Principles of Learning Ruq’a script” and began offering courses to teach Arabic calligraphy in Istanbul for free or at reasonable fees, in addition, his paintings began to gain popularity and reached many Arab and European countries. Kilani describes the art of calligraphy as the music of the eyes, the joy of the soul, and it is also the balm of wounds for the expatriate person.
