Nong Khai Province hosts the first time annual meeting of the Orthopedic Surgery Department, “Innovation in Hip & Knee Reconstruction: Robotic Assisted Surgery”

On November 3, 2021, Somdej Phra Yupparaj Tha Bo Hospital along with Rajavithi Hospital and Nong Khai Hospital organized the annual meeting of the Orthopedic Surgery Department, “Innovation in Hip & Knee Reconstruction: Robotic Assisted Surgery”, which is held for the first time in Nong Khai Province.

 

Dr. Plait Wongyongsilp, an orthopedic doctor specializing in knee and hip replacement surgery stated that today is a good opportunity for Somdej Phra Yuparat Hospital Tha Bo along with Rajavithi Hospital and Nong Khai Hospital to organize the annual meeting of the Orthopedic Surgery Department, “Innovation In Hip & Knee Reconstruction: Robotic Assisted Surgery”, the surgery for knee and hip replacement with a robotic-assisted surgery system. The event was held from November 3-4, 2021 at Somdej Phra Yuparat Hospital Tha Bo which the machine is a robotic system and has an image screen that can create a 3D prosthesis image which is a real picture of the patient by helping to position the prosthesis precisely with better treatment results.

 

Government hospitals in provincial areas need services that cover various aspects of treatment and keep pace with technology, including knee and hip replacement surgery with robotic-assisted surgery, which doctors and nurses need to have the knowledge and understand how to treat with knee and hip replacement surgery with a robotic-assisted surgery system.

 

To keep up with technology and to be able to practice with experience, learning from doing and the accomplished work from both the public and private sectors will allow participants to have a broad perspective. More and more diverse including an emphasis on creating groups that will gather together for discussion, exchange, learning which will be the most beneficial in the long term.

 

Dr. Plait Wongyongsilp, an orthopedic doctor specializing in knee and hip replacement surgery said that the key purposes of the project are to develop learning about knee and hip replacement surgery, to develop effective operations, to develop services quickly, and promote and transfer new academic knowledge of knee and hip replacement surgery with robotic-assisted surgery.

 

This is to focus on developing the potential of treatment to cover all aspects and keep up with the times. The creation of a working group that is ready to drive together in the field of knowledge and competence development will benefit the patients and people in the community in the future.
